District I (Castle District, Buda). Quiet, cobbled and scenic atop Castle Hill, with the palace and Fisherman's Bastion. More tranquil and residential than Pest. Best for romance and views, less for nightlife. Good for: Views and quiet romance.
District XIII (Újlipótváros). A leafy, residential riverside district just north of Parliament, popular with locals and expats. Great cafés and a relaxed feel, a short tram ride from the center. Good value and authentic. Good for: Local living and value.
